Ballot Initiatives

CI-132 – A constitutional initiative that amends the Montana Constitution to require that judicial elections remain nonpartisan.

Friends of the Third Branch has endorsed CI-132 because it defends Montana’s long tradition of nonpartisan courts. Montana has been electing judges via nonpartisan elections since 1935. This measure protects our long-standing tradition of selecting judges based on the person, not the political party.
